My most recent insult with the VA doctor is that my dose was decreased to an amount lower than I need to keep my pain from overriding my other thoughts and activities. When pain rules, when your movements exacerbate pain, one's life is miserable.
The application for a California handicap placard must be signed off by a physician with a diagnosis. I have had several doctors and mid-level practitioners over the years for chronic pain; within the past four years, I would say that four doctors have treated me: surgery, 2 dozen injection treatments into the lumbar area, primary doctors involved, pain specialists. My point today is that none of my providers would sign off for a handicap placard for me. My records support it, my life needs it, and the providers are unwilling to help in that small regard. Has this happened to you?
